Originally from Quilpué, Chile, Santiago enjoys helping farmers apply new knowledge and biotechnologies in cattle reproduction to improve their businesses. He became a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine through the University of Chile, and he had the great opportunity to work with ABS Chile for five years helping dairy and beef farmers to improve fertility and genetics in their herds. Wanting to further pursue his education, he traveled to the United States and is currently a master’s student in Animal Science at Kansas State University (KSU) focused on cattle reproduction. He is part of a current project at KSU to evaluate the effect of omega-3 fatty acid dietary supplementation on the reproduction and milk composition of lactating Holstein dairy cows. In his free time, he loves to do outdoor activities with his wife Julie and his little son Cristian and play soccer.
