Originally from Senador Cortes, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Andréia comes from a family with ties to dairy production. Her childhood experiences on the farm guided her professional steps to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master in Ruminant Nutrition through the Federal University of Viçosa. During the same period, she had the opportunity to participate in extension programs and bring technology to small producers, helping dairy farms to improve their production. Currently, she is a Doctorate student from the Federal University of Viçosa focused on cattle physiology reproduction and traveled to the United States to improve her experience by doing part of her doctorate in Animal Science at Kansas State University (KSU). She is part of a project at KSU to evaluate the association between anogenital distance and fertility in Holstein heifers and primiparous cows. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and participate in activities on her family’s farm.
